- Introductory meteorology page.
- Weather Forecast Links
- WeatherNet -- forecasts anywhere.
- Intellicast's weather.
- The Weather Channel -- yet another good place to get weather forecasts.
- Yahoo Weather Home -- I just like saying "Yahoo!" because I'm from Texas, but this is also a good place to get weather forecasts.
- Here's a satellite weather map of cloud cover over the SE states. You can follow this link to find a satellite weather map of your region.
- Why stop with weather in the U.S.? This site has up-to-the-minute satellite images of global cloud distribution. This is a cool site. Click on Composite Images, then on the Global Montage icon. Or, if you have a very fast connection, click on one of the rotating globe links.
- Interactive Celsius / Fahrenheit conversions.
Here are the formulas: C = 0.55 (F - 32); and F = (C x 1.8) + 32.
Or, you can estimate the Celsius/Fahrenheit conversion using these numbers:
| -10 C = 14 F |
|
0 F = -18 C |
| 0 C = 32 F |
|
10 F = -12 C |
| 5 C = 41 F |
|
20 F = -7 C |
| 10 C = 50 F |
|
32 F = 0 C |
| 15 C = 59 F |
|
40 F = 4 C |
| 20 C = 68 F |
|
50 F = 10 C |
| 25 C = 77 F |
|
60 F = 16 C |
| 30 C = 86 F |
|
70 F = 21 C |
| 35 C = 95 F |
|
80 F = 27 C |
| 40 C = 104 F |
|
90 F = 32 C |
| 45 C = 113 F |
|
100 F = 38 C |
Remember that 10 C = 50 F; and note that for every 5 degree change in Celsius, the Fahrenheit temperature goes up or down by 9 degrees.
For every 10 degree change in Fahrenheit, the Celsius temperature goes up or down by about 6 degrees.
