After graduating from SFA in geology in 1991, I went back to college and obtained a degree in ichthyology. I worked for an environmental consulting company in Dallas for several years then moved back to the Hill Country and currently work for the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. I work in the Mobile Source Emission section.
I have been married for 14 years and have two daughters, Ashlynn and Alicia (below). When we are not at home in Austin, we enjoy spending time up at our lake house on Lake Whitney. The family likes water skiing and I enjoy driving my boat around. I still enjoy racing cars and shooting competition skeet and trap.
During my college years I went by my nickname, Fred, and to this day it is still on my business cards. I liked being at SFA and the geology field trips were such a blast. I enjoyed the Llano trips the best and wonder if I still have the record for running up Enchanted Rock. I would like to thank Ms. Sharp for putting up with all my jokes and pranks! I had so much fun in college, I never wanted it to end (above: Mark, Michele and Jesse during college days). I wonder whatever happened to the Stealth Crew and what color Monet's hair is today.
If you would like to contact me my email address is mblomqui@tceq.state.tx.us. It would be great to hear from you!
