Mrs. Sharp received her B.S. and M.S. degrees in geology from SFA. Before returning as a faculty member, she was employed by Texaco in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Mrs. Sharp is the Laboratory Coordinator for the Geology Department and also teaches General Geology I, General Geology II, Environmental Geology, Earth Science Activities for Teachers, and SFA 101. She has led numerous Earth Science workshops for teachers across East Texas and assisted teachers in conducting Earth Science activities within their classrooms. She has written three laboratory manuals used by the SFA Geology Department and serves as advisor to Sigma Gamma Epsilon (SGE), the honorary Earth Science Society. In 1997 she received the prestigious University Teaching Excellence Award for the College of Sciences and Mathematics. Mrs. Sharp has two children.
